I am recently coming into my Christian faith and your story reminds me of a word I’ve heard frequently at church. Discernment is spoken about throughout the Bible and I don’t have any scripture but I know God wants us to be keen.

Definitely. You can’t blindly follow the narrative. God wants us to have total faith in him but we must be cautious who we trust among men.
