Backed into a corner, they are dangerous and will lash out violently. I have no doubt they are prepared to nuke us all if they don't get their way. Still, I'd rather be nuked than be a slave.

If they can. For what it’s worth the UFO community seems to have a consensus view that something as catastrophic as nuclear proliferation can’t be allowed to take place and has indeed been stopped on multiple occasions. I remember reading an account of a military officer giving testimony on how UFOs deactivated missiles on a site in Wyoming if I remember correctly.
