It's complicated.

My favorite online-Chassidic Rabbi has a very in depth view of Zionism and how it relates to Judaism. He describes both the secular views for and against Zionism, followed by the religious views for and against Zionism.

One central question is should Israel be a secular state or a Jewish state. Should it owe more to ancient Athens or ancient Jerusalem. Should Torah be substantial in law or should it just care about "ethnically Jewish" without being based on Jewish values.

In my experience, though, anti-Zionism is an easy target for anti-Semites to vent their hatred of Jews.

I supported Israel for many years. Leftists attacks on Israel is what turned me conservative. I defended her thick and thin from every crazy accusation the left invents.

That being said, I am beyond upset that Israel turned to vaccine passports before everyone else. I am very, very upset about that.
