I remember when this came out; one of the few people thinking Trump was going to be very important in 2016. I would definitely recommend checking out Adam Curtis's other work.
This documentary is the voice of the deepstate apparatus. They are always at the cutting edge of perceptions (because they know what's going on) and the best qualified and credentialed (they control this as well) to write history -- mostly this documentary is getting ahead of possible inconvenient narratives and reveals brought on by an outsider in the Whitehouse -- to hide themselves and undermine potential information coming out in the future, unknown to them at the time of this being made.
Exactly. I just try to read intended outcomes, or projected reality, or the desired effect, of information presented to me -- and this leads to insights others miss. I watch for what a piece of media is trying to put in my brain, more so than casual viewing at face value, assuming a thing is genuinely informative.
I tend to miss, or disregard, a lot of presented information as a consequence of that kind of thinking -- and I don't get invited to parties.

My interpretation of it.
