I'm pretty pissed off about this. The kid is 9 years old and hasn't worn a mask in almost 4 months plus and now a few days before school starts and they pull this crap.
I've begun trying to reach out to other parents, but I am not sure about resources. I've heard a few success stories, but are there any resources people can share, I want to fight this modern day form of child abuse.
Thanks for the well thought out reply. The above part about being active is something I am getting into as a start.
I am a bit upset because this is a private school, it's not funded by the government to my knowledge, but where the funding comes from is something I'd have to research. They probably still teach a similar style to public at the end of the day.
I am seriously considering homeschooling if this doesn't get fixed asap. Same reason I'm trying to push with my wife the thought of a midwife/home birth as we are expecting a second child early next year. The hospitals don't give a shit about our health and the schools don't care about our children.
Continue to seriously consider homeschooling. You have NO idea what is happening during the school day & they are pros at telling kids not to tell their parents. My kids are seniors in an online public school after I homeschooled them through elementary school. It's not ideal, but at our school I can attend their classes and all classes are recorded. ANY communication via email or text is copied to me as well. This was my only option as a single parent, but gives me some control & transparency so I can hopefully see it coming & intervene.
Oh wow, I had no idea it was private, that is even more maddening. The private schools by us are all conservative and don't mask or even entertain the narrative. Just keep applying pressure everywhere you can, ask tons of questions, and get other like minded parents along side of you.
As for homebirth, my best friend just had one and man she is a Rockstar. Such a great, stress free experience. Don't let fear get in the way of her making a decision. Dr.s just want to cut, both of my births they tried to force emergency C section but I said no as long as babies heart rate is good I am doing this the natural way. All the drugs and stuff mess with the natural process of labor. I'll pray for you both that you make the right decision for your family. Best of luck!
I am all for home birth and all the natural things, This last 18 years has done one thing and made me not trust anybody anymore. Nobody has our interests at heart. My wife is terrified of the pain, but I don't know how different the experiences are. I just want doctors that will treat her right. (not many to be found).
Search for midwives and Doulas in your neighborhood and talk to them, interview until you find one that you and your wife are comfortable with. I 100% agree with you.
