My dad at least has caught up a lot but there are still things I don't share with him, hell he seemed pretty shocked at first when I just suddenly started telling mom about why the CIA killed JFK one time while visiting for dinner (hey she asked me why I disparaged them so much). Since then though I don't even know what rabbit holes he's gone down on his own.

However he has an old friend who's an old Democrat who is like this and he was going off on him at a gathering a while back about how oblivious the guy was to how the Democrat party had changed in the last 30 years and what they'd been up to for the last few years.
