I have yet to see a single person actually do that shit off of TV nor has any moron tried to offer me one.

It's actually common as a medical professional but that's while we're actively working. BS to spread it to the general population. Handshakes mean something, I and most I know strip off exam gloves when we shake hands.

I saw it more in the early days, not so much now. Mostly just not seeing much handshaking. Maybe some head bobs and such.
