In the (based on a true story) movie Lords of Dogtown, Stacy Peralta’s character sells out for $ (movie was written by him so he paints himself in a nice light) and becomes highly successful probably the most successful of the group - he goes on to apprentice Tony Hawk. To make it in skateboarding, as with most things, you gotta be a soulless sellout...
