Lots of you guys are pulling your hair out right now, seeing what's happening in Afghanistan, Australia, with Biden, and in our own nation.
I have to admit, especially where I'm reading these laments, I'm prone to chuckling a bit.
We were told about this. We're "in the know". Most of us understand that Biden is not Biden. Most of us are aware of the battle waging behind the scenes.
And yet it seems there are those that will sort of slip back into the old ways of thinking, complaining about Afghanistan, or something Biden did, and seemingly forgetting that it's all a show.
Just wanted to throw that out there. It's like we're awake, but still grumbling and still in bed, not yet facing the world bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.
Hmmmm. OK, Ryan. I guess I'm glad you can chuckle, and that for you, it's all good.
My people are desperate. My entire society, Victoria, 6.5 million people (5 million in Melbourne) have been under the most horrendous lockdowns for more than 14 months our of the last 19 months. This isn't just some nasty troublesome interference. Businesses have been decimated and destroyed. Suicides are way, way up. Cutting is WAY up among the young. Children are being psychologically damaged probably beyond repair. They might recover a bit, but they will more than likely be scarred for life.
4 months of school with friends out of the last 2 years. Curfew between 9pm and 6 am. No travel without papers outside a 5km limit. Masks in every single location. Contact tracing even if you stop to buy a coffee. Playgrounds all closed. You rip down the barrier tape, and 2 days later its up again.
Of course, some people are ignoring those rules, and they cannot enforce them all, but our people are being terrorized. Many, many people are at breaking point. The only thing missing in the level of fear and pain around here is the Nazi jackboots.
And now other states in Aus are being terrorized, but Victorians have had it the most, pretty more than anywhere in the world.
It may seem like a show to you, but to my people, its a horror movie.
"Still grumbling and still in bed"
Look, I take some measure of gratitude that you are not suffering the same duresses that I and my family, my community and my people are. I wouldn't wish this situation on anyone.
I'm not criticizing you for saying what you say. Many of us understand that there is a plan playing out. But I think you're missing the reality that there is massive, intense suffering in some places now.
Seeing as you are bright eyed and bushy tailed, perhaps, could you get involved in our war down here? It's not longer a battle - we are at war here in Australia.
We could use your support, and help. Learn more about the reality of what is happening here, and get that out to the world. Exposure helps.
That's all I have to say.
A good friend married an Australian and he's been practicing law for 25+ years in Sydney. His brother drowned and his father died in Seattle in the last year and his mother will likely die before he can get home.
Thank you for sharing what's happening there. #WWG1WGA
