I watched the video of LTC Scheller last night. He said several things that seemed to raise my red flag of concern.
He stated please send any money to his wife, Jacklyn. The way he talked about his wife did have a echo for me of someone who was truly suffering.
He was alone, in deep distress over this.
He mentioned PTSD. Also mentioned some other former Marine he said he respected greatly, who stated that "If LTC Scheller was a honorable man, he would resign". This apparent affected him deeply. This comment and LTC Scheller's response; to resign via youtube video and not within his beloved Marine protocol.
All of these things were very concerning.
No one is making the connection that more than likely his wife and family asked the Marines to assist and intervene.
I do not see this as draconian, or an "open threat" to LTC Scheller. I see this as a direct response to indeed deep depression, PTSD. Suicidal? For those who have suffered a loss of a loved one to suicide it DID have overtones.
