When I see shit like this about Philadelphia I'm saddened, because I was in the Navy stationed there at the shipyard at S. Broad Street for all of 1976 - America's 200th birthday. The city was cleaned up, there were events celebrating freedom everywhere...and flags, tall ships from around the world sailed in as a tribute to our great nation. I saw the Liberty Bell. All of our warships in the yard there changed our Jacks from the blue field of stars union jack to the red/white stripes and rattlesnake jack (I think the whole Navy did that for 1976). if we went on liberty in our uniforms it was hard to spend our own money on a drink in the bar - the universal locals' way of welcoming. That place was lit all year long. I'm not gonna ask what TF happened...I know.
