Many people who have been living on EDD benefits will have their free money dry up starting September 6th and it doesn't seem like another extension is coming.
First, a lot of lazy people who have been sucking at the teet for a year and a half are about to be angry they can't receive a pay check for sitting on their ass. Who, where, and how will this anger be directed?
There will be an entire new group of people re-entering the workforce who have been out of work for a long time due to free gibs, almost 8 million people. How will this effect the economy? Positive, negative, both?
I can't fully explain why but it feels like an important marker, but it feels like a big deal. What do you all think?
As someone who has been on unemployment this year, I have a totally different take on all of this. For 15 years, i have been working from home, self-employed. For years, i have watched the same people stay on welfare and work the system who have been given insurance benefits, food stamps and money each month while we slave away working full time, but not able to afford insurance and not buying steaks and lobster, etc.. with our money. Everyone who received unemployment had to be people who were working at least a year full time before receiving unemployment, at least in our state. These are not the welfare and lazy people. Our state provides the lowest unemployment benefits and you cannot hold any job part time or seasonal, etc. and still receive unemployment. As a self-employed individual, this was the first time i have ever been able to claim unemployment.
On behalf of the working class, we did not choose this bullshit liberal sabotage plan to force shut downs on people. At no fault of our own, our businesses in an instant were destroyed. 15 years down the drain. Like hell i am going to go to work somewhere that i am forced to wear a mask all day or forced to take a vaccine. I paid my taxes every year and if the government forces me into unemployment, yes, for once, i am going to take it. They caused this. I paid into the system and they are going to compensate me one way or another for stealing my livelihood. In the meantime i am looking for employment but no, I am not going to wear a mask all day.
The “system” you paid into??? We all paid into with our taxes… the money you are collecting is doing nothing more than running up the tab on our grandchildren’s debt and placing a bandaid on the situation. You nor any one else is “entitled” to a free ride …. There are no “free rides”, there will always be a cost to pay. Either you contribute to your own wealth, or you drain it from others. This includes positive energy, financial, health, spiritual. Be a fountain not a drain, dude.
Not a dude. And no, not everyone has paid into our system. If you live long enough, everyone has a time when they need help. That is one of the things our taxes are for. Unemployment. To call me a "drain" on our system is laughable. I have spent years doing volunteer work and not getting paid, so i hardly think i have an "entitled" attitude. When you make up a false pandemic to deliberately cripple the working man, and you want us to blame the working man for all of your woes and trouble? Yes, it is not the illegal immigrants, the banks, the crooked politicians - it is the every day working American who is the enemy. I just found out yesterday that i have cancer. Maybe soon you will be lucky and be able to rejoice that you have one less person breathing too much of your oxygen and draining your fountain. But you keep up that spiritual and positive energy that you displayed so eloquently.
Not a doctor, but please look into HCQ for your diagnosis. If not as a main treatment for it, at the very minimum as an addition to your treatment. Something that's inexpensive that you can get started on right away.
