You must be talking about those expensive iToys. Regular phones can have the batteries removed. I've done it countless times in order to buy new batteries for older friends who can't order online and were told by the phone company that they would have to buy a new phone.
So "almost all modern phones" do allow you to remove the battery.
What I'm saying is of course you can remove the battery by opening the phone, I've done so myself but with most smartphones you have to pry the phone open, many even require the screen to be removed just to get the battery out. It's not as easy as sliding down the back panel and it plopping out.
You just pop open the back. It's easy to do. It's actually easier than "sliding down the back panel" on a lot of other devices I have owned. I've never seen a phone that required removing the screen for anything.
Idk maybe we got different phones. I don't claim to know every smartphone there is. I'm talking about Sony Xperias, Samsung's, HTCs, iphones, Google pixel, Windows Phone, huawei. But it doesn't really matter either way. Have a nice eve :)
