To add some devil's advocate. I have a coworker I frequently talk to due to an open mind. One of his stories stands out here. He was sick with different things on and off for months. This flowed and ebbed for (IIRC) 6 months. What he didn't realize was his immune system was fighting off a staff infection that never reared it's head until it was overwhelmed. Once the root was found all was well.
