It's depressing what has become of this humanity, if you think of it like "that's the end of it". But we live many lives and our inner divinity is eternal and can never die. Over the course of our lives, from moment to moment, each of us makes choices. The wrong choices we make, that turns into karma. Our karma decides what our circumstances will be in the next life. However, Karma is negotiable. You can use this very lifetime, however much you have left, to make up for it. Just as the consequences of bad actions are superior to the bad action itself, so are the consequences for good actions. If we turn around and take a different path, we can make up for it. :) Never despair.
Yes, surely some righteous ones of us will survive, but they will be few, I believe it is said to be 144'000.
