As cited in the article linked below, dexamethasone is an inhibitor of the PLA2. If you read the NIH’s “Therapeutic Management of Hospitalized Adults” (the Protocol of Death), the last Three of Four stages (this NIH updated version now skips the First Stage where they send you home with nothing) references the administration of dexamethasone in all Three. So, I guess they already discovered the enzyme connection - unless the NIH also relies on plain old dumb luck (which too is plausible).
