Most nutritional studies are complete bullshit because they aren't based on double-blind studies, they aren't controlled in a lab setting at all and based on individual claims, are deceptively vague on purpose (define plant based) and it's easy to cherry pick the result you want. I happen to know enough about nutrition (an obsession of mine and I'm certified in this area) and I'm confident this study is complete and total bullshit. In fact, I would argue plant-based can still mean junk food, and it is in fact a junk food diet, not a natural diet, that causes health problems and weakens your immune system. Whether you are "plant based" or "carnivore", it's likely the cleaner and closer to nature your source of food, the healthier you are. Processed food is the real killer regardless of how many plant were pulverized into franken-ingredients to make it. (There are many paths to get there, and all bodies are unique. Whole plants and meats are the way to go. Keep the sugars (and dirty carbs) as low as humanly possible because there is no denying the effects of sugar on the body - lowers the immune system, causes high blood sugar leading to diabetes, heart disease, and dementia, and feeds cancer.
