We are ready to get started (for our horses, of course!) So much information has been posted already but search function doesn’t work!
Can you all give us some guidance?
Edit to add: We do have horses and are familiar with Ivermectine. Just looking for guidance on dosage and frequency of use in humans.
Multiplying weight by 1.5 seems to be the consensus (but have seen that’s not necessary?).
Here is what I have consolidated so far, (unfinished - needs work):
START
one dose on day one and one on day 3, than once a week for two weeks
One anon dose is 1.5 times the horse dose.
e.g. if you weigh 100 lbs the equivalent anon dose is based on 150 lbs
Prophylactic - once dose every two weeks
You need to take Ivermectin w/ food
Be careful what you're saying here. This is confusing. Make sure ppl understand a full tube of Durvet is for a 1250 lb horse. So a person should take a dose corresponding to what percentage their weight is of 1250. That is, if they weigh 250 lbs, then 1/5 of a tube. You seem to be saying they should calculate this after multiplying their weight x 1.5? So a 250-lb person should measure a dose as if they weighed 375 lbs? That is too confusing, if that's what you're saying. You need to clarify.
Every other guidance I've seen says figure the dose based on your actual weight.
As stated, "unfinished - needs work", so I appreciate the discussion. Dosing is clearly stated in the packages I have purchased. I have heard recently on this board to use 1.5 for the anon metabolism. Needs confirmation.
most of what i am seeing and doing myself is for prevent
one notch is 50lbs. I weigh 150lbs so i move the stopper to the 4th notch and squeeze out from there
i am going to do this 2x a week every 2 weeks so a total of 4 doses / month
i started first dose today
