1 USD used to buy 8.25 CNY. Now it only buys 6.46. That means their currency is more valuable now, doesn't it? Looks like Trump hurt them and Biden has helped them. What happened around 2018 where they got stronger? Was it the tariffs that caused the chart to start heading up again after that dip? Heading to bed or I would do some searching.
