I am not a scientist but it seems to me that logic dictates that a virus would mutate to get around defenses. There would be no need to mutate if nothing changed. Throw the vaccine in the picture and you have a need to change or die, the virus I mean. Could someone that knows about this please explain.

There's no logic to it. It's all just to drive their narrative.
Regarding viruses, what I've always read/heard is that they become less virulent as they mutate. We also hear now that as they mutate to be less virulent, they also mutate to be more contagious. I don't know if that's true or if it's also just part of the narrative.
