I work in consulting & my firm has been desperate to hire since the great culling of 2020.
My current role gives me insight into staffing for a large fortune ### client project. Not only has the firm been scrambling for resources to staff, the client has been having such a time trying to find employees to staff roles that they've leaned more heavily on our resources, furthering our strain.
I'm sure this is common everywhere, I was changing roles recently & I've never received so many contacts about roles. I felt like a pretty girl on a USO tour in iraq there was so much thirst all around me.
How will they both fare when they fire ##% of their employees in a few weeks/months? Who are they going to hire? Who will be able to replace the lost expertise? & oh how much company stock is sure to be sold by disgruntled former employees!
I let my mgr know about my exemption request & that I'll be fired in a few months. I'm certain it caught him completely off-guard. I think managers / leadership / companies everywhere will be scrambling about what is happening.
My mgr was very understanding & said he is going to talk to leadership to figure out what is going on.
Idk how i will respond if my exemption is granted. Do I stay & let them fire those who did not receive approved exemptions & were fired or jabbed? Do i stay loyal to an entity that wanted to subjugate me & my coworkers to such treatment? Neigh. Who is John Galt?

Very astute, thank you.
