There was a conscious effort to remove the Twin Towers, post 9/11, but they still pop up from time to time.
Them getting knocked over, by a tidal wave, was the money shot in "Deep Impact."
I remember Snake Plisskin landed a glider on one in "Escape From New York."
I get it, back in July of 2000 I worked in the north tower for about six months during a business merger, every morning I'd get a coffee and go to the observation deck since there are no real buildings where I'm from. It was wild.
In 'Armageddon', made in 1998, the Twin Towers are hit by meteors in almost the exact spots as the explosions occurred on 9/11. You won't see that part of the movie on most TV channels today because they edit it out.
Anger and a desire to nail those responsible to crosses and left to die.
Trading Places... "turn the machines back on... turn the machines back on... Beeks where the hell are you??"
There's a great line in that movie:
"The best way to hurt rich people is by turning them into poor people."
Got a good look at Jamie Lee Curtis's perfect rack in that one as well.
I feel great sadness and remember the people falling...
Those poor bastards getting their jump wings from that plane in Afghanistan brought those images of people jumping off the WTC back.
I don't trust anything recent stuff coming out of Afghanistan, so much has been faked.
