I watched a replay of this last night and he totally knew. And the moment he realized the camera was on him, he changed his expression yet again.
I’ve watched Bush closely through the years because I believe that even though he’s a piece of shit, he is one of the few who feels guilt. He let his duty to his Deep State family supersede his humanity and he always did what he was told. He didn’t know any other way to live. Since his presidency, he’s painting his guilt away and taking pictures of nature for his Twitter account. I find it fascinating because he’s a study on how a person can lie, murder, and even agree to take down two buildings full of people and yet go on. I watch him to see what it’s like to be a pyscopath, to understand how one moves on from his time in the Deep State ring. He’s definitely an unwilling participant now. He does what he has to do in public, but his heart isn’t there. I think he made a deal with the powers that be that he was allowed to walk off into the sunset after his term ended.

Wow, that makes so much sense. Sad.
