For people who have never been in "Los Angeles" This term is loosely used for the Greater Basin between Angles National Forest/san gabriel mountains and the coast. There are millions of people and 100's of cities in this area.
Down Town Los Angles and some outlying cities do have tremendous homeless problem. Quite a few homeless encampments along the 110 freeway (runs from Port of Los Angeles to downtown Pasadena)
Please keep in mind many many cities in "Los Angeles" have no homeless camps.
the Dark Reality of life in 2021 is that most major cities have a homeless problem
Yeah, but that number (cities without homeless camps) shrank greatly over the past year, as the problem has grown, spilling over into new neighborhoods. Meanwhile, the "traditional" homeless centers have grown to look like 3rd world shantytowns. Even posh areas like Brentwood and Beverly Hills get homeless people wandering aimlessly on residential streets, and camped out in front of vacant schools there in the summer.
