In-n-out is interesting to look at. It's owned entirely by a Christian family, not investors, not an investment bank. This is why they haven't expanded nationwide like other fast food places, despite being in business for so many decades and always being packed with customers. They've refused to take in outside money. They also pay their employees a "living wage", managers make over $100k a year at nearly every store and they pay well above minimum wage.
Do managers make that or are they managers who own that particular franchise? As long as you buy into a good franchise in a good spot you will always be able to bring in 6 figures. I think it was a chick fil a YT short I saw where a guy broke down how much he made and it was a lot but you work your ass off for that.
100% correct. the lady in charge ( i believe is the grand daughter ) she's early 40's worth 250 million (when she was still in her 30's) she's never sold out. I think I read that it was part of her inheritance and if she ever changed it she would lose it.
I vaguely remember reading about it back in 2015..its a interesting story if it can be found.

No franchises.
It's not a franchise. that's why it hasn't expanded nation wide yet.
