May just be local gossip on the local NextDoor app but people are observing the sudden disappearance of birds and also squirrels here in my Ohio community. We noticed oddly that as of 2 weeks ago no birds are visiting our feeder. Can others vouch for this? Odd? If real, what does it mean?

There are plenty here in eastern NC. We have cardinals, mockingbirds, blue jays, house wrens, sparrows, blackbirds, hummingbirds, egrets, blue herons, wild ducks, wild geese, mourning doves, flickers, woodpeckers, and more. We put out seed almost every day.
You might want to check your feeder and make sure the seed hasn't molded. If the birds see that, they will learn to avoid the feeder.
