Clif High has long run a linguistics-based web bot -- a human behavior forecasting program that he initially designed in 1997 to predict markets. it scans the internet for keywords and context and evaluates the level of "emotionally charged" expressions perhaps out of the norm.

it's mostly this world of future guessing that Clif calls "woo" -- acknowledging the mystic approach to his qualitative reasoning. it's much more miss than hit, but an interesting glimpse into language patterns across the web.
