This indictment seems like it lays out a lot of what's to come. The statute of limitations on this particular charge of lying to the FBI expires on Sept 19 which is why it came now.

Well...statute of limitations depends on the nature and timing of the crime. The statute of limitations on crimes such as, just for sake of example, treason is probably longer.
