My basic position being, 'Don't mutilate infants, especially in their most sensitive regions, while their wide awake, in the third day of being alive.' Her basic position being, 'It's in the Bible, it's in our culture, you can't feel pain when you're that young, and its good for cleanliness'. I'm left thinking like, 'cleanliness'? When did we start cutting of the toes to prevent the fungus? A wee bit of research to find that oh hey, its CDC approved and recommended. Kinda makes me wonder too about the whole transgender operations on babies being normalized to in some ways. Supremely f-ed up and I think for the same reasons. Anyway, I just came here to vent this
