The local grocery store's computer has recognized that certain items that I buy a lot of need to be stocked in larger quantities. That means I can buy even more, without emptying the shelves.

They got more canning jars, so I bought more canning jars. I didn't get all of them. If those are still there the next time I shop, I'll get them then. I want everyone to have a chance to stock up and be prepared.

If anyone asks about multiples in my cart, I explain inflation versus low savings interest and tell them about what a good investment it is to spend your money on stuff rather than keep it in the bank. They usually agree, and lights come on.
