I must've been the only person in my suburb that didn't feel it. I was vacuuming and my daughter came out and asked me if I felt the earthquake. My husband was at work 10 mins away and didn't feel it either.
im in newzealnd a couple hours away over the pond,.I got heaps of friends in melbourne I asked one of my friends about the earthquake,and he said "what earthquake,.? i said the one you guys had ,.he said ,nah,,it was like a big muffled boom,.he said the ground didnt shake or nothing,then he said there were to smaller ones,.but sounded further away ,?a couple of others i talked to said there was a big boom it was like being lifted up then dropped,i asked him what about the smaller ones he reckons,.nah didnt hear those,so dunno what to make of it,.but they they all said there was a loud booming sound and the ground didnt shake,.so wtf..!! il try find out more later

Explosions and earthquakes have very different P and S wave patterns. Someone out there on a seismometer will know the truth.
