As a younger man, I got into theater. It was fun, and I enjoyed being surrounded by creative types. As I performed in more shows, I saw that many of my fellow actors and directors were gay men who were very into alcohol, drugs, and had various sexual perversions. I began to feel that I didn’t belong in this clique, and stopped participating. It was difficult to give this hobby up, but it was the right choice.
