Works best with anger and hatred. Which are also both things that are easier to stir up in people.

Have you seen how fast people turn on people they always liked once they catch them pulling a Deep State action?

You can't really do it the other way. Someone trained to hate Trump isn't going to suddenly love him because they catch him doing something nice.
