Because it's not there. That could be Gateway Pundit. They often leave gaping holes in stories. If the Marines didn't say, at minimum they should have attempted to find out and reported no response to calls. I wish I could find a good, reliable source of news not slanted to the left and with at least minimal standards. I haven't found one yet.
I saw "pretrial confinement," and that's a term I used to hear about people in the Navy. There's always charges for violating XX.y UCMJ article or YY.z Navy Regs. Basic amplifying information for any news report. I'm very curious about this.
Don't even get me started on the state of journalism these days. Most of them essentially plagiarize each other with no attribution to cobble together a story. No real digging, no real reportage.
Anyway, this opinion piece says he's being held pending an Article 32 preliminary hearing. Perhaps that tells you more.
I assume GP had the same statement but who knows why they leave crucial holes in their stories all the time.
