I think you’re on to something. You are what you eat when it comes to the literal building blocks of muscle, protein.
Obviously genetics plays a part, but this makes me wonder. Healthy People who eat a lot of beef (not talking McDonald’s) - I’m picturing a burly Texan eating quality steaks. Healthy bean eaters: smaller in stature but still not a little stick, can still lift things and be athletic. Then we have soy, with men’s bodies pretty much indistinguishable from women’s. Hmmm…
