Think "Big picture". "They" know nothing can stop what is coming and have long planned for it building huge underground facilities for the survival of the next several generations of their offspring...not your or mine. Roughly 20 years left before final prep and it can't happen with 8 billion pissed off scared people on the surface fucking up things.
