This reason is probably as simple as it being bad press. It would make Biden look bad to the public to fire the one investigating his old boss.

The cabal don’t care about optics anymore. Plus the msm would spin this so normies would even have a clue if Durham was released by Garland. IMO there is more going on behind the scenes preventing this, time will tell.
