Gardening, especially digging when I'm really stressed. Then I sit on my butterfly bench and gaze peacefully at the dahlias, daylilies, tomatoes, kale, roses, whatever is worth looking at at the moment.
Also my chickens, who can calm me right down with their soothing chatter. They think my name is Braaaaaaawh. And I get delicious eggs too. No rooster. Roosters are asshoe.
I also recommend crochet. I suppose knitting would be the same. Woodworking or carving. Anything using your hands that requires a little concentration and takes your mind off of whatever you're stressing about.
I don't think I have anything unconventional.
I think all of that is pretty unique! Gazing peacefully is just something that not many people do. There is so much vibrant color and life to see and admire, if we only took an extra minute. I love the way you worded everything.
Thank you. I seriously recommend any of those but especially the chickens. They're like feathery lithium.
And if you don't have a garden or a flowerpot, you can always find gardens to stroll in or even nice garden shops. There's one near me that has, I'm not lying, dozens and dozens of parrots in humongous cages. They're spectacular. The opposite of soothing though - very squawky.
