Sadly yes, I do believe they do have that authority. But, if you do not like their policy choices, you are to reform that school board. If they will not listen to the will of the parents that elected them, there are rules (at least in my school district) that allows for the disbanding of those board members, and the election of new ones. Gen. Flynn made it clear that we are to engage on the local level. We need to follow Trump's example and play by the rules. Read the local schools board rules and statutes, and use them against the system.
