I think anything governed by a provably free and fair algorithm that prevents a select few from creating it out of thin air is an improvement. Gold is great too.. It's just already mostly in the hands of the same people that own the Fed.

I just hope enough crypto investors realize that they cannot just entrust it to exchanges that may decide to do the same thing with crypto that they have done with stocks - create more than exists.
