there are many interpretations of Revelations. some of the best I've heard discuss John's vision in terms of celestial mandates; the "War in Heaven" has implications for the material world, but the Earth is not the primary theatre.

Jesus already redeemed the world, yet we still do not follow His command "Peace be with you." Jesus does not destroy but saves.
