A 79 year old in my family just tested positive with a variety of the KungFlu, no sense of taste/smell either plus fever. Has anybody went through frontline doctors to get perscription for ivermectin? Trying to get it for them 700 miles away and their first doctor is not cooperative. And they are not to internet savy. A pharmacy in town carries it and hopefully they can get it tomorrow. Just need a little help to help them.

Someone here earlier today said they've gotten it a few times from Alldaychemists.com. You might try ordering from a variety of places because it could take some time. Obviously, if your local pharmacy has it and will dispense it, that would be great. But you have to get a prescription. If you absolutely can't find a doctor willing to prescribe it, try the place I just mentioned, or look for pharmacies / drug stores in Mexico who will ship it because it's over-the-counter there.
AFLD might be able to help you, but it does take a long time and your friend may not be able to wait. If they know someone has an active case, they more more quickly, but it could still take a while. That is why I suggesting ordering it from as many places as you can and see who gets it to you fastest. As stated, if all else fails, you could try getting it from a veterinary supply or a place like Tractor supply. The horse paste, I mean. Just be sure to get the kind that is ivermectin WITHOUT the other drug. There are versions that are just ivermectin and versions with ivermectin and something else and I'm sorry, I can't remember the name. If nothing else, you might start with that while you wait for the orders or prescription to come through. Best wishes to you and your family member. Oh, and lastly, I would NOT hesitate to kick up a fuss with this person's doctor. There is NO EXCUSE For the doctor to not willingly comply with this reasonable request. If need be, send him/her the stats from India. And you can also site the 'right to try,' law that was passed. On someone who is 79 yo, that seems very reasonable. Good luck!
I will try to get things going in the AM locally for them. I hate that they tested positive, because some hospitals will then stick you in the "no treatment for virus with no cure" protocol. If you don't have a positive test hospitals will do all sorts of treatment to help you get better, but tell you a vent is the only thing if your positive. Its like your femoral artery is cut and the doctors are about to stitch it together when a nurse comes in and yells "he's got the KungFlu!" and they stop sewing it up and say, "good luck, hope your body can handle it, no curing the WuFlu." At least right now their symptoms are just fever, but not a real high fever. They will hunt doctors prescriptions in the morning. I will update everybody here.
I know it's hard to do things from a distance. I hope they have, or you will encourage them to have, the backbone to advocate for themselves. Doctors aren't dictators. And Trump fought for the 'right to try' law. So if they get any nonsense about not being allowed ivermectin (if it comes to that -- and early treatment is ESSENTIAL) then let them start blowing a gasket and demanding ivermectin over the ventilators. I wish you well and I hope things go as smoothly as possible. And please DO keep us posted. God bless all of you.
