I heard rumors of this and it seems to be true! How will this happen if they are having a driver shortage still? Are they getting extra Federal Funding? What is the motive here?

And once again, the small businesses are left out in the cold. It is so obvious what they are doing.
"White House says" a lot of stuff about getting the job done. The mentioned groups are doing most of the moving already. Walmart is (at least around here) relying on Door Dash, the Uber of delivery services and the service is at least as good as UPS and USPS.
This is about them having the longshoreman work around the clock 24/7 to unload the shipping containers for the above mentioned companies as priority! Shitting on small business once again. Plus there is issues with truck driver shortage so if they unload the boats then our ports will be storing all the containers until drivers are available.
What way is there around the Longshoreman union though? They've always been the gatekeepers and part of the problem. One the stuff is on land the warehouse owners will make out from keeping it, but they at least have a truck driver excuse.
