BTW, Washington State Ferries still seem to be doing their part. From WSDOT website:
Service on most routes to be reduced due to severe staff shortages.
SEATTLE – Beginning Saturday, Oct. 16, Washington State Ferries will temporarily operate reduced schedules on most routes to provide more predictable and reliable travel. The change comes as the system is exercising maximum effort to crew its sailings in the face of a global shortage of mariners that has been exacerbated by the pandemic.
Yes, I like that part AND the "global shortage of mariners" part. Nothing-to-do with the vax mandate...it's a global shortage of workers. (Just like Southwest Airlines is suffering from a global shortage of pilots....)
Yup, according to WSDOT, Seattle/Bainbridge, Edmonds/Kingston, Mulkiteo/Clinton, Seattle/Bremerton, Point Defiance/Tahlequah, and Port Townsend/Coupeville are now all on one-boat service.
Another Washingtonian here...love it, too.
