Just had a talk with the school about similar conversation in Health class. They told our son he wasn’t racist but the air he breaths makes him racist. I was beside myself and we went in to ask what they meant. We said this was the wrong message to all the kids and made them believe it didn’t matter what they did, they would be racist.😡 The teacher completely lied and said she didn’t say those words (but she did, verified by another kid) but she’s just trying to show how beliefs are passed unconsciously that we accept and act on. I’m all for bringing the unconscious into the conscience but I’m not for pigeonholing anyone. I said we need to focus on what unifies us because together we are stronger and everything that’s been going on is to separate us which destroys communities. They’re on notice that we’re paying attention.
