Last month, my trash collection company went from WCA (Waste Corporation of America) to GFL (Green For Life environmental). It seems my bill went from $47.93 every 3 months/which isn't bad; to $74.00 every 3 months. This was due to them saying I lived in a different county because my mail comes out of that county. I have lived here in this same location since 1998. I contacted the place and their company representative figured my bill to be $57.00. My daughter who lives on my property got her bill for $50.00 and I asked why hers was so cheap because she didn't live in the county they said I lived in and the woman literally got hateful and started yelling at me.
My husband and I decided that it would be best if WE checked into recycling for ourselves; especially since my daughter Googled the company and found out it was based in Canada and owned by CHINA. Then my son who lives down the road from me finally got in touch with the hateful company rep. who suddenly wouldn't answer the phone any longer and she said that our bill would be $63.00. I told my son I didn't care as she told me $57.00 and it's like they are making up amounts. So I told my son what we were going to do because it's the principle of the thing.
So we bought a 55 gallon drum, punched holes in it and we have a cover to keep it dry. We burn all our paper in it. Then we bought 2 large trash cans for outside to hold one for glass; the other for cans. We ran short on money so we will be buying one for plastic this week. But right now we are burning our plastic until we get one. Anyway, we found where the recycling bins are located and so now we will be saving a few bucks.
The moral to this story is: CHINA CAN STICK IT UP THEIR REARS. WE AIN'T TAKING IT ANYMORE.
