However, at the same time, we also become dependent on the other nations to produce these things, which can be a cost in itself - the same problem exists with technology and critiques of civilization in general, like you could say "fun fact: my feet didn't break down when my car did" about the dependence that technology can create versus simpler technologies or the lack of them
