So one of my distractions from the war, admittedly isn't the greatest things, but its not the worst.
WW2 had dancing, drinking, and Tokyo Rose, Voice of America, and the like.
Today we have Tik Tok and YouTube. This time both are owned by enemies, but have done something the former have not: turned vast swaths of our creative members of society into financially dependant drones (content creators).
In addition, while TV and theater rotted our collective brains, YouTube algorithms and programming custom tailors that rot into the most personalized, adictive forms possible.
This creator does the odd thing and aproaches the censorship and control that YouTube is currently pushing, and addresses it from the inside in a way that is digestible to most people. To me it was jarring and disturbing to say the least.
It reminded me of one guest from Dave's X22 spotlight videos a few weeks back. They discussed financial investments and market manipulation from the perspective of an investment banker or some such. The guest didn't really care about the politic, but rather how to capitalize on the current wave of change, and stay afloat on the current wave of political manipulation.
Both reminded me of a poker player insisting on continuing to play while the boat he was on was sinking fast, with others standing next to him, bailing water as fast as humanly possible.
I foresee both these people continuing on that trend without stopping until forcibly torn from the table as the chips finally submerge and the boat goes down.
This country has, unfortunately been attacked by its own double edged sword.
The advent of opportunity has created the ultimate experience of distraction for humanity, leaving the body politic to proceed with abandon to destinations unchecked by their distracted constituents. It was only a matter of time until we reached our current location, morally bankrupt and corrupted by all the evils and vices available to children with inatentive parents.
Unfortunately, it leaves me with the impression that we have few options as to how to wake these people up to reality, much in the way people fled and buried their heads in the sand about WW2. America in particular would not participate in an obvious worldwide conflict until it was faced with a direct attack (the nuances of which, I know can be debated well here, but that is not for now).
Could a Red 2 event be required as our pearl harbor, to rally a chunk of stubborn sleepers and tip the scales into expedient victory?
Or is it more likely that the continued victories will be less disruptive, and discrete, allowing everyday things to carry out much the same, at least on the surface, and change over time?
Maybe a combination of these? Thoughts I wanted to share.
