Influenza is not that catchable. It’s droplet, meaning it flies out of your mouth in spit, whereas Covid is said to be airborne, people breathe Covid out and is why masks preventing big droplets from flying out of your mouth won’t really prevent Covid as it can live in aerosols from the breath. Measles is aerosol and very catchable. One would only get the flu every decade anyway so what would prove you can’t catch the flu is being purposefully exposed and see if your immune system is super powerful. It’s like saying you can’t catch Ebola, as it’s super catchable. There are people who won’t get HIV when exposed due to blood antigens from the blood groups, which are passed down. I’m AB negative and that means I have resistance to the stomach flu but catch influenza and it’s true, both happen.
If you’re resistant to upper respiratory maybe you catch stomach bugs more frequently? Those seem to be the case, resistance to one or the other but not both. We carry blood types from previous infections that can protect us but they usually don’t protect from everything. Do you get the stomach flu?
Not sure about the stomach flu, not really sure what that is or the symptoms. Kind of an iron gut if you will. Nausea is extremely seldom and usually hangover induced if it happens. The other end works fine other than lactose issues. I do get sinus infections during harvest season. But they pass quickly since sinus surgery, only irritated a day or two. Maybe I get the flu and it doesn't slow me down?
Now you have it. I notice when I get sick it’s because of stress. People who manage their stress well are sick less. I’m just honestly curious and I talk too much so thank you for answering.
I have zero preconceived ideas, I leave myself open and as a nurse I always trust what my patients tell me. This gets me in trouble so I have to hide how much I support my patients n their own beliefs. Taking away people’s personal power is what’s so damaging. Trying to tell YOU how your body works or what’s right for you is basically mind rape. Especially for men. Your opinions need to be respected.
