Do any of you use Navy Federal?

Does one need to be prior military to join? (Husband was Army, so we are eligible if so.) Do you recommend NF? Is it based? I want to get out of our current bank, but want to do some research first.

I don't know if they're based or but. They never fucked with me or my wife. Pretty sure they're open to everyone now...used to be a LOT of rules about membership. For example Marines could only join while STATIONED at Parris Island, which includes boot camp so Marines would rush over on Family day (2 hour visit w family day before graduation) to open an account

If I'm not mistaken, I think any branch of the military can use NFCU now.
